Overview

Rapid Product and Process Development (RPD) Center at Texas State University-San Marcos is engaged in research and educational activities in design, development, automation, and analysis of functional products, processes, tools, and systems in diverse sizes, from micro scale to several yards, in a short period of time. The research effort is focused on functionality and customization based on the customer’s needs. Development of mechanical and electromechanical systems for industry and fabrication of the fully dense prototypes are of special interest at this center.

Mission

The Rapid Product and Process Development Center’s mission is to provide high-quality services to our clients while giving students and faculty opportunities to work on real world problems, state-of-the-art research, and advanced technologies.

Goals

  •  Offer solutions to real-world industry problems through the scientific methodologies.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art tools and methods to advance the body of knowledge in the interested areas.
  • Provide adequate training, research and team-working experience for students to prepare them for professional career and advanced degree programs.
